AV TECHNICIAN
Length: 12 month initial contract
Location: Tempe, AZ (Fully Onsite)
The AV Technician supports the planning and execution of events by providing reliable audio-visual setup, operation, and troubleshooting services.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, test, operate, and break down a wide range of AV equipment, including sound systems, microphones, projectors, screens, lighting, video conferencing tools, and recording equipment
- Conduct pre-event system checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and configured to event specifications
- Provide real-time technical support during events, including monitoring audio levels, managing presentations, switching video feeds, and resolving issues quickly and discreetly
- Troubleshoot and repair minor technical issues with AV systems, coordinating with vendors or senior technicians for complex problems when necessary
- Support hybrid and virtual events by managing streaming platforms, video conferencing tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom), and live feeds
- Collaborate closely with event planners, presenters, and venue staff to understand event requirements and ensure seamless execution
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment, including tracking usage, performing routine maintenance, and reporting needed repairs or replacements
- Ensure all setups comply with safety standards, including proper cable management and secure equipment placement
- Assist presenters with slide decks, audio/video playback, and basic technical guidance to ensure smooth presentations
- Adapt quickly to changing event needs, schedules, and last-minute requests
This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced event environments.
